Were Freemasons involved in early photography?
This presentation will last for approximately 45 minutes, after which there will be the opportunity to enjoy Felix Lodge's legendary hospitality with a sumptuous 4 course meal with wine and port for just £30 per head.

Looking forward to a successful evening.
1st March 2016 is the date for the next Felix Lodge 1494 meeting and it is the first under the leadership of our new Worshipful Master.
It is likely that we will have 3 joining members, all keen to play an active role within the Lodge, strengthening the team. This will put the Lodge in a excellent position to bring in new candidates to Freemasonry, as the key members of the Lodge have an average of over 20 years experience in the fraternity.
The new joining members will only improve the knowledge and experience within the Lodge making it an excellent place for new Freemasons to learn, socialise, develop, help worthy causes and enjoy what this great fraternity has to offer.
If you are already a Freemason and would like to see what is special about Felix Lodge 1494, please use the email icon adjacent to contact the Secretary who can book you in for the next meeting on Tuesday 1st March. We will be rehearsing an initiation ceremony, so that we will be ready for new candidates.
If you are interested in Freemasonry and would like to know more about Felix Lodge 1494 or what it is all about, again email the Secretary who would will be pleased to explain more about the Fraternity in general and Felix Lodge 1494 in particular.

In order for an organisation to like Felix Lodge 1494 to prosper it must adapt and change in some ways, whilst cherishing and preserving its history and traditions. The trick is knowing what to change and when to change it, as well as understanding what is worth preserving.
Yesterday, at the 574th meeting of the Lodge, the members decided to embark on a new journey to adapt and change, using modern techniques, to promote an old masonic lodge that is positively dripping with tradition and history. Hence this first blog spot in the News & Comment section of the newly created website for the Lodge.
Too many masonic lodges close and disappear as they fail to realise, or even worse realise too late, that their numbers are decreasing and they feel they can do nothing to stop the decline. Put in very simple terms, our Lodge has survived for over 140 years, through two world wars, economic hardships and depressions and is still alive and kicking but it is time to promote this fine institution and appeal to the next custodians of our organisation, so that the work and effort of our founders and past members is preserved as the lodge continues.
So with guidance for the excellent Middlesex Provincial Team our members were informed of how new technology, in particular Social Media, appeals to the next generation of Freemasons and how successful it has been when adopted by other Lodges faced with the challenges we now face. We thank the team for their positive presentation and its underlying message of hope.
Work has begun, emails have been exchanged and ideas are being formulated as we take the first step towards what we hope will be the next 140 year chapter in the Felix Lodge 1494 history. Thank you if you have taken the time to read this post. We hope to bring you more news from the Lodge and updates on our progress towards increasing our membership.
If you are interested in Freemasonry and are based in the general vicinity of Twickenham please email our secretary by clicking here and he will get in touch and answer any questions you may have so that you may become part of this historic Lodge.
